BUYING PROPERTY IN CAPE VERDE

Why Cape Verde?

Cape Verde is a hot spot. It is a beautiful new holiday location where the government is trying very successfully to promote tourism and overseas investment in a poor country with few resources.

Property Prices

The property investment market and buying off plan in Cape Verde is very much in its infancy and so prices are very low and inducements very good! Prices can do nothing but rise and this will offer very very high potential investment returns

What Product in Available?

Much as you would be expect of a modern real estate market - modern studio apartments built to high European standards, with fitted kitchens, nice bathroom and fully furnished.

The Climate - Is It Good For Tourism

Pretty much perfect! The a temperature ranges between 22-29 C, occasionally rising into the low 30s C. Rain only falls in late August and September. There are few flies and mosquitoes only appear during the rainy season.

The warmth of the sun is usually softened by the cooling breeze coming in off the sea.

Incentives For Property Investment on Cape Verde

The Lei de Investimento Externo (External Investment Law) was introduced in 1993. This law broadened and enhanced the existing legislation to attract private foreign investment by non-Cape Verdean nationals

Five Year Tax Exemption

The new law includes a 5-year initial tax exemption and a subsequent tax reduction by 50% on corporate tax (currently 30%) for the following 10 years. These incentives can be extended indefinitely, so long as adequate reinvestment is made.
